The events begin in 1922 in the Volga region, where famine is raging. A mother donates the last piece of bread to her son, dreaming that he would stay alive and grow up brave and strong. Two decades later, he is already fighting the enemy on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. The platoon is being transferred to the front line. There, in a fierce battle with the enemy, the hero shows unparalleled courage, performs a feat and dies. Nowadays, the great-grandson Sergey, a young cadet of a military school, learns from the Internet about the feat of his ancestor and decides to find the descendants of other soldiers of the unit in order to visit a memorable place and learn more about the events of the war years..
